This is a Project Engineer role reporting to the Engineering Manager in Business Area- Process Automation (PA) located in Bengaluru, India. You will be primarily responsible to lead an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. These are pipeline position for ABB in Process Automation capability, with tentative joining in Quarter 3 & 4 of 2021. You will be contributing significantly to successful project results in technology and/or product development by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

Your responsibilities

• Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Assisting in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs.
• Supporting Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
• Creating work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.
• Completing risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions in one€™s area of responsibility.
• Assisting customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables.
• Designing engineering in accordance to applicable National/International codes and standards applicable to process analyser systems and its targeted industries
• Leading and conducting FAT with customer/3rd party inspectors along with test engineers.

Your background

• Diploma/Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering with 6 - 8 years of experience in Process Analyser System design engineering.
• Strong knowledge in Continuous Gas Analysers, Process Gas Chromatographs, FTNIR, Liquid Analysers, Physical Properties Analysers, Gas Detectors.
• Strong knowledge in analyser systems calculation such as Dew Point, Bubble Point, Fast Loop-Lag time/Pressure Drop, Utility, Calibration Blend List, Electrical Power Demand, etc.
• Strong knowledge in sizing/selection of Sampling System Components such as Pump, Pressure Regulators, Flow Meters, Pressure/Temperature: Gauges/Transmitters/Switches, Sample Probes, Heat Tube Bundles, ON/OFF valves, as per project specific application.
• Strong knowledge of Power Distribution Panel design, MCB/RCBo, Relays sizing, and selection
• Strong knowledge of Power/Signal cable sizing, and selection
• Strong knowledge of Fire & Gas Systems, PLC/HMI design, sizing, and selection
• Knowledge in SAP to handle on daily basis for purchase request, order tracking, etc.
