Position: Fire Fighting Engineer

Department: Water, Gas & Utilities

Location: Kolkata

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Fighting Engineer to lead the design and engineering of fire protection systems across various industrial settings, including process plants, steel mills, and heavy industries. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in fire fighting technologies and a proven track record in delivering detailed engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop both basic and detailed engineering designs for a variety of fire fighting systems in process plants and heavy industrial sectors.
  • Design and implement fire suppression systems, including Fire Hydrants, Medium and High-Volume Water Systems (MVWS & HVWS), and Sprinkler Systems.
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to manage the complete engineering process, including the preparation of detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all systems comply with safety standards, codes, and regulations.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing water-based, gas-based, foam, and other chemical fire fighting systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Fire Hydrants, MVWS, HVWS, and Sprinkler system design and installation.
  • Proven experience in vendor coordination and preparing comprehensive detailed engineering documents, including BOQ.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience: 6-15 years of experience in fire protection engineering, particularly in process plants or heavy industries.
