Job Overview:
As a member of the global Sustainability & Governance function, lead ESG/Sustainability data management, reporting and disclosures function.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Company s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data collection and reporting program and activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of ESG data and performance metrics, including data collection, analysis, verification, and disclosure.
- Develop appropriate dashboards to guide and provide oversight of key KPIs and metrics in support of data management, reporting, and decision making.
- Liaise with Finance and Internal Audit teams to establish processes and controls for reporting that are scalable and appropriate for future growth and potential regulatory developments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable global ESG disclosure regulations, including liaising with internal and external legal counsel in determining applicability of regulations to the Company.
- Oversee and manage sustainability reporting processes and policies, including within McDermott s management system (unifi).
- Establish data reporting protocols, including for data within the S&G function and within other Company functions or teams, e.g., HR.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and updates on sustainability initiatives and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to setting short and long term ESG strategy and goals in support of the Company s business strategy.
- Contribute to the development of McDermott s ESG scorecard in line with materiality assessment and business strategy.
- Manage the Company s ESG data management and disclosure software.
- Compile cross functional data (qualitative and quantitative) to support selected annual ESG disclosures, e.g., CSRD, CDP. and Annual Sustainability Report.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Degreen in Finance, accounting, engineering, sustainability or legal
- 8+ years. Previous management experience preferred
- Experience in preparation of sustainability reports and/or other non-financial disclosures for publicly listed companies.
- Experience in preparation of ESG disclosures, e.g., CDP, sustainability and/or climate reports, TCFD disclosures, etc.
- Experience in developing KPIs/metrics to guide and track quality measurement and reporting of ESG topics, e.g., GHG emissions, social impacts, etc.
- Familiar with ESG reporting frameworks, such as GRI, UN SDGs, ESRS, IFRS, etc.
- Working knowledge of current and emerging ESG regulatory reporting requirements in the EU, UK, and US.
- Degree in relevant field including finance, accounting, legal, sustainability, chemistry, or similar field
- Advance degree or training in sustainability, financial reporting, social responsibility, international development, human rights, or similar field preferred.
