Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and responsible Android Engineer with a solid understanding of Android development and user experience (UX). If you're someone who enjoys building great mobile applications, has a keen eye for design, and is eager to contribute to the server-side aspects of development, we would love to have you join our team. In this role, you will work on developing and enhancing Android applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring robust and efficient application performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Android Application Development:
  • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform, ensuring seamless user experiences.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, product, backend) to define, design, and ship new features.
• Integration with Data Sources:
  • Work with remote data via REST APIs and JSON to integrate dynamic data into the application.
• Unit Testing:
  • Perform unit testing for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability of the app.
• Bug Fixing & Performance Optimization:
  • Continuously fix bugs, improve application performance, and ensure the app runs smoothly on different Android devices.
• Continuous Learning & Innovation:
  • Keep up with the latest trends, tools, and technologies, and implement new ones to improve the development process.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualification:
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
• Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years of professional experience in Android app development.
• Published Apps:
  • Proven track record with at least one original Android app published on the Play Store.
• Remote Data Integration:
  • Experience working with REST APIs and handling JSON for data integration.
• Third-Party Libraries & APIs:
  • Familiarity with using third-party libraries and APIs in Android development.
• Mobile Landscape Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of the mobile landscape, including Android architecture, trends, and emerging technologies.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Ubuntu or MacOS:
  • Familiarity with Ubuntu or MacOS for development.
• Agile Team Experience:
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and contributing as part of an Agile team.
• Open Source Contributions:
  • Contributions to open-source projects are a huge plus.
