About The Role We're looking for multiple Senior Staff and Principal engineers across platform and products who can independently drive and take on large scope and critical Rippling projects, which includes, but is not limited to: Owning and delivering on multi year business goals Managing org wide technical commitments against longer term roadmaps Generating advocacy and alignment for their team and teams within their domain across the organization Leading organizational practices and processes to be better Actively informing team design reviews Diving into company high priority projects What you will do Inform and help define the standards of observability within engineering Ensure your team s alignment with the future of Rippling Engineering in terms of design and technology choices Drive systemic elimination of tech debt and architectural deficiencies for the architecture Participate and inform your teams design reviews and engineering wide architecture reviews Ensure technical designs written are reviewed and adopt the industry best practices for scalable architecture with pragmatic tradeoffs Frequently act as an incident commander and drive resolution to engineering wide incidents with ease Qualifications 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in technical lead or architect roles Experience building large-scale distributed systems, such as high-volume SaaS environments Ideally experience in building out payment infrastructure for companies working at a global scale Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, React, MongoDB, AWS Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by identifying areas of impact and independently pursuing them A track record of influencing and enabling forward-thinking technology decisions across a wide organization Excellent ability to communicate complex technical ideas with clarity and precision in written and verbal modes
