About the Role:

Smart Joules, a leader in energy efficiency and sustainable HVAC solutions, is seeking an experienced Director Operations to oversee all HVAC operations. This role is crucial in ensuring high-performance delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction across multiple locations nationally and internationally. Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead operational excellence as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

• Lead the entire HVAC operations team, managing day-to-day activities across all projects and sites.
• Develop and implement SOPs and operational processes to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
• Oversee project management for HVAC installations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring timely, on-budget, and within-scope execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost operational efficiency and shorten project cycle times.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the main liaison for clients, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Build and nurture relationships with contractors, suppliers, and external partners to guarantee client satisfaction and service quality.

Leadership and Team Development

• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team including regional operations managers, site engineers, and subcontractors.
• Develop a strong second line of leadership to support succession planning and business growth.

Compliance & Safety

• Develop and enforce stringent safety and compliance standards in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Anticipate and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to timelines and resolving operational issues proactively.

Financial Oversight

• Prepare and manage operational budgets, optimizing costs without compromising quality.
• Monitor financial metrics and operational KPIs to ensure profitability and overall business health.

Technology & Innovation

• Lead the adoption of digital tools and technologies to streamline operations and improve data accuracy and service delivery.
• Stay updated on HVAC industry trends and innovations to maintain Smart Joules competitive edge.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience: 15+ years in HVAC operations with at least 5 years in senior leadership managing large-scale HVAC operations and maintenance projects.
• Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of HVAC system design, installation, repair, maintenance, energy efficiency, sustainable design, and relevant building codes and industry standards.
• Project Management: Proven success managing projects with budgets exceeding INR 50 crore.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability in leading cross-functional teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage complex stakeholder relationships and work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with international HVAC standards and regulations.
• International work experience in HVAC or allied industries.
