Role Summary
As an Energy Auditor, you will play a critical role in identifying energy inefficiencies, conducting thorough audits across commercial and industrial facilities, and delivering actionable recommendations to drive cost-effective energy performance improvements. You ll lead a small team and collaborate with clients to implement impactful energy-saving measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Energy Audits
- Conduct comprehensive on-site energy audits of mechanical, electrical, and process systems.
- Evaluate performance of HVAC, lighting, motors, pumps, boilers, and building envelope.
- Audit compliance of implemented energy-saving measures and track improvements.
- Establish and maintain an annual audit schedule across active and legacy sites.
- Create, refine, and standardize SOPs for audits across all client categories.
- Data Collection & Analysis
- Collect, verify, and analyze energy consumption data from utility bills, meters, and IoT systems.
- Identify usage patterns and conduct variance analysis between expected and actual energy consumption.
- Evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of recommended energy conservation measures (ECMs).
- Utilize engineering principles and technical knowledge to assess systems and recommend improvements.
- Reporting & Recommendations
- Develop detailed and client-friendly audit reports with key findings, efficiency gaps, and proposed ECMs.
- Quantify savings potential using tools for ROI, payback period, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Present technical findings and resolve queries from client stakeholders.
- Recommend retrofits, equipment upgrades, behavioral changes, and renewables integration.
- Client Collaboration
- Work closely with facility managers, building owners, and engineers to identify needs and tailor energy strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor, supporting implementation and follow-up of audit recommendations.
- Provide training or awareness support to client teams to reinforce energy-conscious behavior.
Skills & Experience Required
- Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) Certified Energy Auditor Mandatory.
- Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in energy audits.
- Conducted audits for 20 30+ facilities across sectors such as commercial buildings, industrial plants, or healthcare.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple audits concurrently.
- Technical & Behavioral Skills
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency principles, thermodynamics, and O&M best practices.
- Proficient with tools and software used for energy analysis and audit reporting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel frequently across locations as required.
