Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and pragmatic Senior SDET to elevate our testing practices and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our cutting-edge data management, governance, and analytics software at Internet scale. Your work will directly empower decision-makers to leverage data for impactful community improvements.
This role requires a hands-on tester with a strategic mindset, able to balance manual exploratory testing with automation and continuous process improvements. You will work closely with product owners, developers, QA teams, and release managers to champion quality throughout the software lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and enhance test strategies, plans, and coverage to identify and mitigate risks based on product requirements.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites, harnesses, and test applications.
- Collaborate with QA teams and partners to understand system specifications and recommend testability improvements.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and scripting to ensure seamless continuous delivery.
- Partner with developers, product managers, and analysts to ensure testable requirements and robust quality.
- Drive testability and diagnostics integration into products for faster troubleshooting.
- Share automation testing best practices and tools across teams.
- Participate in peer design/code reviews and Agile scrum ceremonies.
- Perform exploratory/manual testing as needed to support releases.
- Adhere to coding standards and software development lifecycle processes.
Required Qualifications
- Master s degree in Engineering or a Bachelor s degree with 4+ years of professional software engineering/testing experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: .NET, Python, or Java.
- Experience testing enterprise-level applications and systems.
- Strong background in API testing and automation frameworks/tools.
- Experience with Jenkins and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven expertise in QA processes including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and release management.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and sprint ceremonies.
- Skilled in developing high-quality test automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with tools like Mocha, Jasmine, JIRA, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Experience testing cloud applications on Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments.
- Knowledge of security testing and static code analysis tools.
- Proficient in querying relational databases and working with complex schemas.
- Deep understanding of software quality assurance methodologies integrated with SDLC.
