Role Overview: Senior Engineer - Electrical Wiring Harness Interconnect As a Senior Engineer in Electrical Wiring Harness Interconnect, you will contribute to the design and development of wiring harness and interconnection solutions. You will work on hardware design activities, ensuring that the technical specifications, design plans, and manufacturing requirements for wiring harnesses are met. You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the design meets the required standards, both for product development and production. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Lead the design and development of wiring harnesses and interconnection solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Formalize function descriptions, technical requirements, and specifications for wiring harnesses. Define the necessary engineering plans to develop the product, ensuring high-quality designs. Standards & Specifications: Propose solutions for wiring, components, packaging, and printed circuit boards (PCBs). Develop and manage the product data package, including files, bills of materials (BOMs), components, and standards. Ensure that designs meet quality requirements by adhering to standards such as WHMA-620, IPC-620, and SAE-AS50881. Testing & Manufacturing: Define and manage testing and inspection requirements for wiring harnesses. Oversee the design and testing of cable harnesses and other electrical interconnections. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure efficient production processes and resolve issues related to wiring harness design. Tool Utilization & Collaboration: Use VeSyS2.0 and AutoCAD for designing wiring harnesses. Leverage tools such as MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) to support design documentation, presentations, and analysis. Work with multidisciplinary teams, including Electronics Design, Mechanical Design, and Systems Engineering teams, to ensure the integration and alignment of designs. Process & Project Management: Ensure consistency in the engineering process, practices, and tools across all projects. Organize and approve engineering plans, including those with sub-contractors and partners. Participate in project planning, cost estimations, and project deployment for wiring harness design solutions. Skills & Qualifications: Essential: Experience: 4 to 8 years in wiring harness design and manufacturing industries. Strong knowledge of ground transportation domain wiring harness design. Technical Tools: Mandatory: VeSys 2.0, AutoCAD Premium, MS-Visio 2016. Desired: CATIA V5, ATIM, Mentor Tools for harness design. Design Standards & Regulations: Mandatory: WHMA-620, IPC-610, SAE AS50881, MIL-Standards for wiring harness. Strong knowledge of wiring harness standards, components, and industry regulations. Programming & Automation: Hands-on experience with Excel automation and basic Python scripting. Familiarity with regular expressions for automating tasks related to wiring harness design. Collaboration & Teamwork: Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams across electronics design, mechanical design, and system engineering. Manufacturing & Project Management: Exposure to manufacturing processes and project cost estimations. Familiarity with product lifecycle management and product configuration. Preferred: Industry Exposure: Experience with cable harness manufacturing and industry-specific exposure is a plus.
