(Electrical, Electronics, or related fields preferred) Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Industry Type: Electrical Equipment / Cables Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Design and Costing Engineer with expertise in copper cables, ideally with a background in communication cables. The ideal candidate will be a cross-functional contributor, collaborating with production, sales, and design teams to ensure accurate costing, product design, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: Design copper and communication cables in accordance with customer specifications and industry standards Develop and validate detailed costing models for new and existing cable products Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure feasibility of designs and cost efficiency Support sales teams by preparing technical proposals, cost breakdowns, and design clarifications for clients Interact with customers to understand technical needs and suggest product optimizations Continuously benchmark product costs and identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality Maintain up-to-date knowledge of raw material costs, industry trends, and competitive products Qualifications & Skills: B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field 8 10 years of experience in cable design, costing, or a related technical role Hands-on experience in copper cables, preferably in communication cables Strong analytical and cost modeling skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; comfortable interacting with internal teams and customers Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and MS Excel for costing calculations Presentable, sharp, and capable of representing the company in technical discussions with clients Preferred Skills: Experience working in cable manufacturing or OEMs Understanding of international cable standards (e.g., IEC, UL, BS) Familiarity with ERP systems for costing and production planning Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Qualification : B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field
