About the Role: Oracle s CGIU Enterprise Communications Platform engineering team is seeking a skilled Cloud DevOps Engineer to support our development teams throughout the DevOps lifecycle. This role focuses on leveraging the full benefits of cloud computing while minimizing the associated risks and costs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps methodologies, and best practices to help the team stay competitive and achieve business objectives. Key Responsibilities: Automated Systems: Design, implement, and maintain automated build, deployment, and testing systems to streamline the software development lifecycle. Optimization: Lead efforts to optimize build and deployment processes for high-volume, high-availability systems, ensuring efficient delivery and scalability. Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Monitor production systems to ensure high availability and optimal performance, proactively identifying and resolving any issues or bottlenecks. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration management. CI/CD Pipelines: Create and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitLab CI/CD to automate testing and deployment processes. Scalability & Security: Continuously work to improve the scalability, security, and resilience of systems, driving the adoption of best practices across development and operations teams. Collaboration & Guidance: Participate in the design and implementation of new features, offering guidance on deployment and operational processes. Security Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to ensure compliance with industry and company standards, implementing security measures to safeguard systems against potential threats. Innovation: Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in the DevOps space, making proactive recommendations to improve team processes and the platform. Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers, ensuring their growth and facilitating collaboration across multi-functional teams to achieve project success. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 7+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer in a cloud environment. Education: Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (4-year program). Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Java or Python programming. Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure). Expertise in Terraform and managing infrastructure as code. Solid experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar tools for building and deploying applications. Strong familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies. Advanced troubleshooting skills in Kubernetes environments during deployments. Experience with Bash/Python scripting for automation and process improvement. Understanding and working knowledge of REST APIs. Solid background in Linux administration. Experience in designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines. Thorough understanding of DevOps culture and Agile Methodology. Good to Have: SaaS & Multi-Tenant development experience. Cloud Security and knowledge of cybersecurity in cloud environments. Experience with the Java programming language. Familiarity with the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Previous experience in telecommunications and networking environments.
