Job Title: 3D Modeler Plant Engineering (Third Party Contractual) Location: Vadodara Department: Engineering Employment Type: Contractual Experience Required: 5 7 Years Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled 3D Modeler to support the development and maintenance of high-quality, intelligent 3D models for various projects, including the Polycarbonate Plant Relocation (D3 Project) and upcoming greenfield and brownfield expansions (Phenol, Cumene, IPA, CHN, Offsites & Utilities). This role involves integrating laser-scanned data with engineering inputs and existing documentation to generate models that support engineering, procurement, and construction workflows. Key Responsibilities: Develop and update detailed 3D models using AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), and IDS Viewer. Integrate laser scan point clouds with P&IDs, equipment layouts, and isometrics to model existing and new plant infrastructure. Generate and extract piping layouts, isometrics, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and support drawings from 3D models in accordance with piping specifications and catalog data. Validate and update equipment, instrument, and line tagging in line with P&IDs, site data, and engineering documents. Produce 2D deliverables including equipment layouts, piping plans, cable tray layouts, and civil/structural GAs across multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate with EPCM partners, dismantling contractors, and site teams during model reviews and updates. Work with digital tool vendors (e.g., ASETS) to implement model enhancements and integrations. Assist in the preparation of area-wise MTOs, barcoding interfaces, and modular packaging documentation. Required Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), and IDS Viewer. Strong knowledge of piping specifications, including supports, insulation, and special components (e.g., strainers, steam traps, vents). Experience in equipment, structural, and electrical & instrumentation (E&I) modeling. Familiarity with laser-scanning techniques and transforming point cloud data into intelligent models. Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment datasheets accurately. Competency in creating multi-disciplinary 2D deliverables from 3D models. Understanding of PMS/VMS systems and catalog-based modeling practices. Strong coordination and communication skills to work with cross-functional engineering teams. Educational Qualifications: Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or related technical field. Experience: 5 10 years of relevant experience in 3D modeling for petrochemical, chemical, or refinery projects. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with E3D or SP3D platforms. Prior exposure to laser-scanned model development, particularly in projects with limited or outdated documentation, is highly preferred.
