R&D Verification Engineer Summary / Role Purpose The R&D Verification Engineer joins the Fluids Business Unit to conduct software testing of ANSYS Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) applications. This role helps assess how well the product meets customer needs in terms of functionality and usability while ensuring compliance with product requirements and quality standards. The engineer will collaborate closely with the product creation team and communicate with technical specialists on product issues. Key Duties and Responsibilities Perform functional and regression testing in manual and/or automated test environments. Verify defect fixes and write detailed software defect reports and enhancement requests. Apply standard techniques and procedures while complying with the company's overall development and testing processes. Work in various computing environments, including both Windows and Linux operating systems and high-performance computing. Minimum Education / Certification Requirements and Experience BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field. Preferred Qualifications and Skills MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field. Working knowledge of the numerical methods and algorithms typically used for CFD. Experience using Fluent CFD software to solve engineering problems. This role is responsible for full product lifecycle management, from concept development and prototyping to validation, production readiness, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Full Lifecycle Product Development Drive product development from concept through design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and implementation for CEVs. Develop system and component-level solutions aligned with functional, cost, material, and manufacturing requirements. Design Execution & Evaluation Create and review system concepts to ensure innovative and competitive design. Perform 3D modeling, 2D detailing, tolerance stack-ups, and geometric dimensioning (GD&T) using industry-standard CAD tools. Ensure designs are production-ready, meeting engineering, safety, and quality standards. Testing, Validation & Analysis Coordinate testing activities, including trial setups, instrumentation, and performance evaluations. Innovation & Standardization Drive the creation of new concepts for components, systems, and subsystems. Standardize parts and subassemblies to improve design efficiency and reduce cost. Identify opportunities for process improvement and design optimization. Key Competencies & Skills Deep technical knowledge in structural systems, fabrication, and vehicle integration.
