Position: Database Developer/Administrator Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Database Developer/Administrator to join our team and manage, optimize, and secure our database systems. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL development and database administration skills, with a focus on performance tuning, data modeling, and ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Implement database schema changes and performance tuning strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve query performance issues. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems. Ensure database security, availability, and reliability. Perform regular database backups, restoration, and disaster recovery planning. Develop and maintain database architecture and data models. Design and implement data migration strategies between different systems. Establish best practices for database design and development. Lead a team of database developers and administrators. Mentor and guide junior team members in database best practices. Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to meet project requirements. Monitor database health, usage, and performance using monitoring tools. Conduct regular audits to ensure database integrity and consistency. Implement and maintain high availability and failover solutions. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations. Maintain up-to-date documentation for database systems and procedures. Required Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 7+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development and database administration. Proficiency in database technologies like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning. Experience with database backup and recovery, replication, and high availability solutions. Familiarity with database monitoring tools and technologies. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques. Knowledge of cloud-based databases and services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
