Job Overview As a Senior Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be involved in PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) software driver development and embedded core driver development. You will work on designing, developing, modifying, and validating software for embedded systems and cloud-edge applications that enable cutting-edge products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware architects, test engineers, and others to design system-level software solutions and ensure they meet the performance requirements. Key Responsibilities PMIC SW Driver Development: Design, develop, and validate software drivers for Power Management ICs (PMIC). Embedded Core Driver Development: Work on the development of core embedded drivers to interface with hardware components. Collaboration: Work closely with systems, hardware, and test engineers to ensure alignment of software and hardware components. Debugging and Problem Solving: Utilize debugging tools (e.g., Lauterbach, Trace tools) to analyze, triage, and debug complex system-level issues. Learning and Teamwork: Stay updated with the latest in embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS), and collaborate effectively within a team. Minimum Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 3+ years of Software Engineering experience, or Master s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 1+ year of Software Engineering experience. Programming Experience: 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python. Skills & Experience Programming Skills: Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems development. Embedded Systems & RTOS: Strong understanding of Embedded Systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) concepts. Processor Architecture: Exposure to ARM architecture or similar. Debugging Tools: Experience using Lauterbach and trace tools for debugging embedded systems. Problem-Solving & Analysis: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug complex system-level problems. Team Collaboration: Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate effectively, and be open to learning from others. Embedded Core Driver Experience: Prior experience with embedded core drivers is a plus. General Summary: The Software Test Engineer will play a critical role in testing Qualcomm Sensing Hub features for various Qualcomm products. The position includes test planning, test case development, execution, and hands-on testing in both lab and field settings. The role also involves developing automation frameworks, debugging embedded systems, and collaborating with global teams for issue resolution. Key Responsibilities: Test Development & Execution: Develop test cases and execute testing for Qualcomm Sensing Hub features. Conduct hands-on testing with mobile/handheld devices in labs and field environments. Automation Development: Create automation modules for sensor testing using C# and Python. Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks. Debugging & Issue Resolution: Analyze and isolate issues across software modules, test frameworks, or hardware. Collaborate with global teams to resolve issues and support debugging in embedded targets. Sensor Testing & Calibration: Verify and calibrate sensors in embedded hardware. Test and validate communication between devices embedding Qualcomm Sensing Hub. Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with engineering teams to integrate new testing methodologies. Gain a detailed understanding of Qualcomm Sensing Hub software, hardware, and embedded architectures. Minimum Qualifications: Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of experience. OR Master s degree with 1+ year of experience. OR PhD in a related field. Work Experience: 1+ year of work or academic experience with software/system testing and automation tools. 4-6 years of experience testing embedded systems and developing automated test cases/frameworks. Technical Skills: Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Java. Experience with Android application programming. Knowledge of debugging embedded systems and isolating issues. Familiarity with Qualcomm test tools (Axiom, QXDM, QDSS, etc.) and DIAG implementation. Exposure to sensors (e.g., inertial, pressure, ambient light) and related test equipment. Other Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global team environment. Basic understanding of radios, audio, camera features, and related test procedures. Preferred Qualifications: Master s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Previous experience with Linux Embedded, Linux Android, and Windows mobile devices. Familiarity with oscilloscope usage for debugging hardware and validating signals. Experience in modem, WiFi, Bluetooth, and location technologies testing.
