As a Database Practice Specialist focused on Oracle, you will engage with customers to identify appropriate Oracle workloads for migration to Google Cloud and design the overall deployment architecture. You will also work with partners and Oracle teams to develop migration plans to enable customers to move their Oracle workloads to Google Cloud. Responsibilities Be an Oracle technology subject matter expert, focusing on Oracle database offerings and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure specifically, knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, including ecompute/Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), storage and networking, and database services. Identify and qualify Oracle business opportunities, lead discovery workshops for Oracle workloads, identify key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers. Support the technical relationship with Google s customers, including product and solution briefings on Oracle and database modernization, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination and prioritization of solutions impacting customer adoption of Google Cloud. Listen to the customer to provide feedback on product improvement to product management and engineering. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 10 years of experience in the enterprise software or cloud space. Experience with Oracle database, Oracle technology products, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Experience with one or more open source database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MySQL. Preferred qualifications: Experience in customer-facing pre-sales or professional consulting in data and information life cycle management, translating customer business needs into cloud-based solutions. Experience with data management architectures, including performant and scalable architectures, security, monitoring, and database management, particularly from an Oracle perspective. Experience with Oracle data migration strategies and in moving large-scale production systems either in on-premise / data center environments or migration to cloud scenarios. Knowledge of Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), cloud-based high availability architectures, and Oracle database performance tuning.

Summary of Essential Job Functions: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines utilizing Python, Pandas, Spark, and Dataflow. Leverage expertise in relational databases such as SQL Server and MySQL, with a comprehensive understanding of cloud platforms. Assemble and integrate large, complex data sets to meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. Analyze and integrate diverse systems and data sources through ETL processes, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery to visualization teams and business stakeholders. Optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines for enhanced performance, reliability, and scalability. Ensure the integrity and quality of data throughout the pipeline by implementing robust validation and testing strategies. Identify opportunities for process improvement, such as redesigning infrastructure to support greater scalability, improving data delivery efficiency, and automating manual processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to comprehend data requirements and implement solutions that align with business needs. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, including design specifications, code comments, and operational guides. Provide technical support for production issues, including troubleshooting, query optimization, and process improvements. Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering best practices and encouraging continuous learning. Knowledge of analytics tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Data Studio, and Apache Superset is a plus. Work Experience & Qualifications: 4-6 years of experience in the design and development of data pipelines and related technologies. Strong communication skills, both customer-facing and internal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
