Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including leadership exposure, in production technology/process engineering, preferably within the automotive sector. Skills Required: Strong knowledge of production technologies, process validation, and machine operations. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate between production, quality, and engineering teams. Experience in process improvements, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Exposure to new project feasibility, programming for new parts, and training facilitation. Proficient in handling customer complaints and driving corrective actions. Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive NPD Manager to oversee and drive the development of new products from initiation to delivery, ensuring timely execution and high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete product development lifecycle, working across various teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution and on-time delivery of new products. Key Responsibilities: 1. NPD Execution Lead the execution of new product development, from the receipt of inputs to final product delivery within the defined timelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth progression of the product development process. 2. Planning & Coordination Develop the NPD calendar based on inputs from the Brand Team, Innovation team, and strategic priorities. Prepare SKU-level product mix and budgets for NPD. Work out the complexity of NPD projects and develop appropriate timelines. Track and monitor the progress of product development at each stage (Design, Development, and Delivery). 3. Sample Development & Costing Oversee sample development, including coordination with internal and external sources. Prepare detailed cost sheets and monitor manufacturing costs. Develop error-free material masters and watch bills of material (BOM) in SAP. 4. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendor partners (both indigenous and overseas), and various supply agencies to ensure on-time delivery. Ensure timely sample submission, approval, and pilot assembly. Coordinate product certification and handover to the central planning team. 5. Quality Control & Continuous Improvement Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with supply agencies, designs, and QC teams. Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) for continuous process improvements. 6. Project Management Ensure accurate project scheduling, tracking, and timely escalation of any issues that may arise. Ensure the creation of error-free material masters and BOMs on SAP. Track and monitor NPD status at each phase and ensure that timelines are met. 7. External & Internal Interface Management Maintain strong relationships with external vendor partners and internal teams, including the Sonata Product Marketing Group, Design Excellence Centre, and Watches ISCM team. Escalate and resolve any product-related issues in collaboration with all relevant teams. 8. Training & Development Identify training needs and pursue opportunities for skill enhancement. Participate in cross-functional exposure programs to enhance multiskilling. Stay updated with new technology and software to improve knowledge and process efficiency. Job Requirements: Education: BE Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) Experience: Fresh graduates with 1-2 years of experience in product development or related fields.
