Job Summary
Data Engineer (Ahmedabad)
The key aspects of this role:

Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity.
Data engineer will deal with raw data that contains human, machine or instrument errors. The data might not be validated and contain suspect records; It will be unformatted and can contain codes that are system-specific.
The data engineers will need to recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Scout for sources to acquire new data for required data points.
The data engineers will need to ensure that the data platform architecture that is in place supports the requirements of the business.
The data engineering team will need to develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.
Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to engineering wiki, and documents work.
Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
Designs and evaluates open source and vendor tools for data lineage.
Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

Required skills and experience

BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
Overall experience of 7+ years including 4+ years of SQL experience (Postgres experience is a plus)
Experience working with large data sets is required.
2+ years of No-SQL experience (MongoDB is a plus)
2+ years of Python experience
Experience with Data Modeling, Data Mining and Data Visualization tools is a huge plus.
