Intellectual Property Manager India Job in Abb Ltd.

In this role you will be responsible for leading IP operations and legal activities for ABB India operations. You will be translating and executing ABBs regional and global IP strategy into the assigned local team effectively and efficiently leveraging resources, optimizing costs and delivering value. You will be leading and providing IP services and support as directed to assigned businesses and technology organizations to achieve all objectives through effective and efficient processes and policies, transparent cost accountability and relentless execution.

Your responsibilities

• Implementing the Group IP processes, performance and targets in into the local organization in accordance with GF-IP alignment and strategy.
• Mentoring, managing, communicating and continuously improving the teams day-to-day work, performance and environment.
• Providing local leadership and partnering with associated Centers of Excellence (CoE), business units, regional operations and GF-IP including proactively overcoming challenges and/or conflicts resulting from process, policy and/or organizational changes.
• Leading and providing focused legal advice and guidance on technology, IP and innovation matters involving contracts, joint development agreements, non-disclosure agreements, strategic alliances, new product development, R&D, etc.
• Providing support to cross-functional teams involving business deals, working with third parties, open innovation, joint ventures, M&A, competitive IP assessment, IP transactional needs, and matters involving licensing, monetization, litigation, and/or enforcement.
• Providing the leadership with advice, reporting, transparency and insight into all site activities, forecasts and budgets, and risk/success issues to the benefit of the global performance of ABB.

Your background

• Legal degree with experience in (international) IP Law or adequate equivalent.
• Work experience in the IP area of at least 10 years.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, prior supervisory experience of approx. 5 years,
• Budget management, cost-savings achievements and change leadership mindset.
• Flexible, self-driven
• Possessing a positive outlook with an innovative and creative spirit. Able to attain a strong working knowledge of IP regulations of the region as well as foreign filing strategy and litigation awareness.
• Able to identify, lead, and support appropriate tasks, strategies and implementations in leveraging our IP Teams efforts for competitive IP business advantage.
• Proven successes in communicating complex issues in an understandable manner with executives, business and technical leaders, and legal service providers.
• Demonstrable technical skill in ABB Business Lines.
• Must have excellent analytical skills, have a solid understanding of technology, and possess a diversity of technical expertise, including the ability to relate to general technologies with one or more areas of expertise.
• Fluency in English, as well as admission to practice law in the local jurisdiction required.
