Internal Control Expert Services (ICES) team will be the global collaboration partner to Business and Global Business Services (GBS), proactively driving and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls and risk management. Through energy, enthusiasm and expert skillset, ICES will collaborate with stakeholders, driving standardization, automation, continuous improvement and creating long-term value of internal controls.
You will be part of ICES team and responsible to lead the 1st line of defense in providing oversight, expertise and value add enhancements to ICES stakeholders.
This role is based in Bangalore and reporting into Head of Internal Controls GBS Finance Expert Services.

Your responsibilities

• Providing oversight as 1st line of defense to ensure operational management maintains a robust risk and control environment.
• Supporting and guiding management in the design, development and maintenance of effective risk and control management practices.
• Supporting process design enhancements to standardize processes and controls (in coordination with global process owners) to simplify and rationalize the control environment.
• Understanding of SarbanesOxley Act (SOX) and its implications on reporting and controls and performing quality reviews to ensure high quality risk and control execution.
• Working with process owners to conduct process reviews to identify sustainable control improvements.
• Providing business insights to operational management to support achievement of business objectives.
• Supporting the implementation of local or group wide methodology changes and training delivery.
• Ensuring that the internal control methodology is strictly implemented and maintained.
• Driving the remediation and deficiency assessment process and proactively working with the process and control owners to establish proper remediation plans.
• Monitoring and guiding management in the timely and sustainable remediation of deficiencies, supporting the assessment of deficiencies and their underlying root causes.
• Delivering periodic training and expertise to process owners, control owners and control performers to ensure successful execution of roles and responsibilities and increasing awareness on the importance of risks and controls.
• Establishing constant and transparent communication with key stakeholders on relevant matters.
• Encouraging use of technology to enhance control environment and processes (e.g. automated controls vs. manual controls, data analytics to provide business insights, etc.).
• Participating in global assurance, risk and internal controls initiatives and projects (where applicable).

Your background

• University degree in finance, accounting, auditing, etc. with professional qualification equivalent to CPA/CIA/CISA.
• 8-10 years experience in finance, audit, assurance, risk or internal control related areas.
• Experience of working in service delivery model environment.
• Solid understanding of internal controls methodology, practices and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
• Sound working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems preferably SAP.
