The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Business and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis, data analysis coaching across the business line and divisions for the various business KPI.
  • Collate, cleanse and maintain the ABB proprietary tools serving as data sources for the KPI.
  • Communicate results or findings from data analysis to relevant cross functional team and business line leaders.
  • Lead problem solving discussions related to the KPI Data and results.
  • Support the business line leaders on periodic reporting/dashboard creation and communication of the same.
  • Optimise use of methods & tools to automate data analysis and business Intelligence using the relevant Technological solutions such as PowerBI, excel pivots, VBA Macros etc.
  • Lead as project manager for new IS tool development, migration, validation and deployment.
  • Schedule and conduct remote or on-site trainings on various ABB proprietary tool as and when required.
  • Deliver on training needs such as document (creation/modification), tool training materials and improvement feedbacks.
  • Collaborate with a cross functional team for developing and sharing best in class practices across business line related to IS tools.

Your background

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering or any related discipline.
  • 4-8 Years in quality analyst roles.
  • Experience in quality roles and exposure to IS tool deployment role across an organisation.
  • Proficient in understanding Quality processes and concepts.
  • Prior relevant Industry experience, knowledge of Product Life cycle Management is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS-Office, PowerBI or any other Business Intelligence tool.
  • Self-motivated, willingness to take up and lead new challenges, excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and tools using L6S approach.
