ABB's High Voltage Products team provides products which help enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of power networks while minimizing environmental impact. Our technology leadership continues to facilitate developments in areas such as ultra-high-voltage power transmission, enabling smart grids and enhancing eco-efficiency.

You will the lead time and on time delivery to customers while optimizing costs within the global feeder factory, HV switchgear, India (GFF). Develop and deploy Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) and Inventory Management best practices in the on units in line. Be accountable for end of pipe metrics: inventory, net working capital, planning versus reliability and forecast accuracy. Building process ownership in the operations team and orchestrate the monthly planning cycles.

Your responsibilities

  • Implementing the Sales and Operation Planning process to align demand, production, material and financial planning for the entire value chain of the op unit(s).
  • Running the Demand and supply review process cycles, obtaining consensus of internal customer and Production Managers, Procurement for sign off by LOU Operations Manager and input to master planning.
  • Working with the demand side customer contacts to influence the demand shaping activities which help improve profit, customer service or reduce inventory.
  • Identifying the product and business model changes impacting the supply sides capability, costs and take the planned implementation to optimize the costs and service levels.
  • Establishing and maintaining inventory management processes and guidelines in line with Hub/Business Line instructions. Develop E2E process optimization, externally and intra-company, to reduce overall Value chain lead-times, and reduce inventory.
  • Enhancing the current processes, using data/analytics and Lean methodologies, such that they are compatible with the principles of flow methodology and Demand Based Management.
  • Overseeing the execution of the procurement of the materials and services that support the business by optimizing availability, inventory and reliability of the suppliers and supplied products Ensures execution in accordance with Company and Supply Chain Management (SCM) sourcing strategy, instructions and procedures.
  • Subject matter expert Establishing and sharing best practices for operations planning, inventory management and resource management. Provides local leadership to the units to use best practices in SAP ERP for planning, inventory management and control.
  • Promoting a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, inventory and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).

Your background

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Industrial Production, Manufacturing.
  • Should have minimum 12 years working experience in planning function, preferably in component, tier 1 industry.
  • Formal education and certification in supply chain operations, preferably APICS certification.
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt from a recognized body like ASQ with project experience to demonstrate.
  • Experience in working in Lean environment and familiar with the methodologies.
  • Possess good communication both in English.
