Primary Objective

Provide overall leadership and management for the Secondary Packing, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and BIJ (Bag-in-Box) operations. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations by planning, executing, and monitoring shift activities in line with Abbott standards. The focus will be on the reconciliation and handover of batches, managing contractual workforce, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management:

  • Achieve secondary packing, NDT, and BIJ targets as per the production schedule.
  • Ensure that products are manufactured defect-free and meet Abbott s quality standards.
  • Monitor shift activities to ensure adherence to quality compliance.

Human Relations & Team Management:

  • Promote and foster positive human relations within the department and across the plant, ensuring employees uphold Abbott Values.
  • Take responsibility for the career development, training, and performance management of team members.

Process Improvement & Efficiency:

  • Lead efforts to improve efficiency and quality in secondary packing, NDT, and BIJ operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean/Six Sigma and the Business Excellence Program.
  • Implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address incidents.

Maintenance & Equipment Management:

  • Ensure effective maintenance programs for all equipment in the secondary packing, NDT, and BIJ areas.
  • Monitor equipment downtime and ensure timely repairs.
  • Assess engineering spare parts requirements and ensure timely availability.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety compliance in all operations.
  • Oversee the line clearance and labelling processes, ensuring no incidents during shifts.
  • Maintain batch records and relevant documentation as per SOPs.

Project Management & Reporting:

  • Lead and manage specific improvement projects as required.
  • Ensure timely reporting of Safety, Quality, Food Safety, and Equipment-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with other departments for operational improvements and ensure alignment on goals.

Shift Supervision:

  • Manage shift scheduling and workforce utilization for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure the Fixed Crew System is followed across all shifts.
  • Maintain effective communication and handover processes between shifts, ensuring smooth operations.

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Dairy Technology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Food Science.
  • 2-5 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong people management and leadership abilities.
  • Good understanding of production operations and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficiency in Gujarati is considered an added advantage.

  • Overall leadership and supervision of Secondary Packing, NDT, and BIJ operations.
  • Responsible for planning, execution, monitoring, and supervision of operations in compliance with Abbott standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement, manage the contractual workforce, and ensure smooth batch handovers.

Qualification :
Bachelors Degree in Dairy Technology, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Food Science.
Experience Required :

2 to 5 Years
