Job Summary

JD- HOD- Civil & Structural Engineering (15-17 Years)

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor s Degree in civil engineering from reputed Institutes. Master s degree with specialization in structural engineering will be an added advantage
  • Candidate with design experience from reputed Engineering companies with at least two jobs as a Manager Civil & Structural Engineer.
  • 15-17 years with minimum 5 years of experience in oil & gas, petro-chemicals industry is preferred.

Functional Competencies:

  • Perform managerial activities like performance review, project progress review, interviews and taking care of mentoring & training of team
  • Developing project baselines; monitoring and controlling projects with respect to cost, resource deployment, time overruns and quality compliance to ensure satisfactory execution of projects
  • Supervising the Structural Engineering from the conceptual development stage through final construction, making sure that the project gets done on time and budget
  • Leading a team of professionals; ensuring suitable deployment & timely availability of manpower (Engineers & Designers)
  • Responsible for issue of all Structural deliverable documents. Organize inputs and supervise for preparation general layout, equipment layout, key plans, support design, isometrics, material take offs, stress analysis, pipe material specifications and material requisitions.
  • Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines, project management and Client teams.
  • Define the discipline scope of work and the required resources and develops input for the Structural Execution Plan.
  • Selection of contractors as well as consultants to complete specific pieces of the project
  • Designing and implemented stringent systems and quality plans / manuals to ensure high quality standards during all the stages of project
  • Participating in resolution of Structural issues during project life cycle, including planning phase, design, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning
  • Ability to manage the overall engineering function, Structural activity, take decisions and forecast project load plan function accurately. Should be aware of Security, Quality and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Must have interpersonal, negotiation, technical skill. Must be capable of taking decisions and actions that impact the bottom line and topline growth of the business.
  • Ensuring the work designed or supplied by the Structural engineering discipline complies with the relevant codes & standards & Client requirements.
  • Development of specifications & work processes for Structural Discipline
  • Implement new software etc.
  • Provides Technical direction on unusual or difficult problems
  • Communicating with Customer for effective resolution of the various technical issues being faced for satisfactory resolution
