Job Summary Job Description-Supply Chain Manager

Key Skills and Competencies:
  • A degree in a related field with a minimum of 7-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with manufacturing-based technology and lean manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with computer software to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to work with all levels from senior management to manufacturing personnel both internal and external.
  • Must demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate, direct and maintain highly confidential work and materials.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills in order to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously with the capacity to work independently, coupled with the ability to plan and perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Freedom and willingness to travel domestically in India to meet with potential suppliers, expedite orders and, at least initially, inspect and approve suppliers for suitability of supply and approve quality of parts to be supplied on orders that you have placed.
  • Flexibility to work within a start-up environment and have the confidence to make key decisions amd support global supply efforts.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • 10. Must want to grow and learn as the business in India grows and have the potential to contribute to global sourcing efforts.

    Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Manages and oversees overall purchasing and supplier delivery on projects in India and selection of vendors.
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of operations.
  • Coordinates and resolves issues regarding existing and new products.
  • Interacts with customers to ensure that all requirements are being met.
  • Manages sourcing initiatives to maximize the company s position and buying power as well as individual subsidiary purchasing.
  • Manage vendor project activities such as quoting, preparing bid packages with our commercial teams, analyzing bid packages, negotiate contracts, establish consignment programs, research new vendors, liaison between vendor and operations personnel, price negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with inventory programs that include quantity, cost and delivery efficient KanBan systems, coordinate vendor inventory data, price, lead-time, packaging and safety stock with purchasing personnel.
  • Assist management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
  • Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • 10. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
