Cloud Database Engineer

Experience : 3-8 years

Role Description : Manage the cloud infrastructure environment through cross technology administration (OS, databases, virtual Machine), execution of scripting and monitoring automations. Manage the environment incidents with a focus on service restoration. Act as operations support for all computer, network, storage, security, or automation incidents /requests.

Key Responsibilities :

• Building and supporting large-scale, business critical systems on Public Google Cloud Platform.
• Working on Google Cloud Platform.
• Hosting an application on GCP using Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage.
• Creating scripting language preferably Python for automation of build tasks.
• Handling configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet and Chef.
• 5 years of experience designing and managing MySQL databases with a focus on performance, security, scalability, reliability, high-availability, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with database internals and diagnosing memory leaks, data corruption, replication, and database performance and tuning.
• Experience with scripting, automation, and SQL/PL-SQL and programming languages (e.g., Python and Java).

Prefered Qualifications :

• Experience migrating mission-critical database applications from on-premise to cloud or running a hybrid cloud environment for large enterprises/
• Experience in building and packaging database components in Kubernetes (K8s).
• Experience in technical consulting on database design and architecture supporting large enterprise customers with high SLO and SLA requirements.
• Experience working in a dynamic organization with extensive cross-collaboration across various functions.
