Job Summary

Lead the identification of opportunities where advanced analytics can make a difference.
Facilitate the process of prioritizing these opportunities.
Frequently serve as project manager on the projects.
Actively champion adoption of the solutions across the business and promote cost effective scaling.
In other words, translate business problems into data science projects and lead in quantifying the various types of risk and rewards that allow these projects to be prioritized.
Domain and industry expertise.
Excellent project management and executive communication skills.
An understanding of the techniques and technologies of data science, along with a fairly detailed understanding of the challenges associated with each (e.g. overfitting, model refresh, challenge of acquiring training data, cost of compute, etc.)

Help business leaders identify and prioritize their business problems, based on which will create the highest value when solved.
These may be opportunities within a single line of business (e.g., improving product quality in manufacturing) or cross-organizational initiatives (e.g., reducing product delivery time).
Map the business problems to modelling approaches by working with Data Scientists and Engineers.
Manage end user expectations through demos, prototypes to illustrate business outcomes.
Ensure that the solution produces insights that the business can interpret and execute on
Drive adoption of Analytics and Data solutions among business users.
Translators should be able to direct an analytics initiative from ideation through production and adoption. Should have understanding of the life cycle of an analytics initiative and the common pitfalls. Project Management experience with Scrum methodology is necessary.
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mind-set to navigate the organizational framework and collaborate with business teams and functions creating effective teams.
