Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing Process Knowledge:

    • Understand and optimize manufacturing processes including drawing, trimming, punching, rolling, bending, welding (Mig/Tig/Laser), and brazing.
    • Analyze and improve process controls for efficiency and quality.
  • Die Designing and Simulations:

    • Apply basic knowledge of die designing and simulations to enhance production efficiency.
  • Estimation and Inputs to Techno-Commercial Team:

    • Estimate cycle times, lead times, and resource requirements (equipment, tools, manpower).
    • Provide insights to the techno-commercial team for cost planning and resource allocation.
  • Component and Vendor Development:

    • Contribute to the development of new components and vendor partnerships, ensuring timely and cost-effective product delivery.
  • Quality Planning Tools:

    • Utilize quality planning tools such as APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, DRBFM, PRBFM, DFA/DFM, and Control Plans for process improvements.
  • Error Proofing and Digital Tools:

    • Implement error-proofing methods and use digital tools (e.g., MES and IoT) to monitor and enhance production quality.
  • Quality Systems and Sourcing:

    • Establish quality systems for part sourcing, such as Pre-Control Plans and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
  • Statistical Tools:

    • Employ statistical tools like SPC or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement and maintaining quality standards.
  • Productivity and Capacity Improvement:

    • Develop strategies to improve productivity and capacity at vendor locations to meet business demands.
  • Value Engineering:

    • Propose value engineering ideas to enhance yields and reduce costs in the manufacturing process.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Effectively manage multiple projects and collaborate with diverse clients and stakeholders.
  • Team Building and Conflict Resolution:

  • Knowledge of Standards and Statutory Norms:

    • Familiarity with both Indian and international manufacturing standards and local statutory norms.
  • Understanding Cross-Functional Roles:

    • Collaborate with other functions throughout the project lifecycle, integrating their expertise for smooth operations.
  • Vendor Guidance:

    • Guide vendors in implementing best practices to improve processes and ensure product quality.
  • Qualifications:

    • Educational Requirements:
      • B. Tech or M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
