Job Summary The Mining Section Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a designated coal mining section. This role involves planning, executing, and supervising all aspects of mining operations, including drilling, blasting, coal extraction, and equipment maintenance. The Supervisor will also ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Daily Operations: Conduct daily toolbox talks to address safety and production priorities. Ensure deployment of equipment (HEMM), overmen, and mining sirdars according to the plan. Oversee mine operations such as production, development, road construction, dewatering, blasting, dust control, haul road maintenance, and dump stability, adhering to approved plans, specifications, policies, and procedures. Production and Planning: Plan and execute drilling, blasting, and coal seam removal activities for the shift, following company SOPs and DGMS/CMR 2017 guidelines. Guide and direct shift in-charge for safe and productive operations to meet target production and dispatch quotas. Work closely with the colliery engineer to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operation during the shift. Preparation and Maintenance: Plan and execute preparatory work for the monsoon season. Schedule regular maintenance for equipment (conveyor lines, own equipment, outsourced). Ensure operation, maintenance, and equipment deployment records are maintained according to DGMS guidelines and SOPs. Safety and Compliance: Conduct regular rounds in the mine to observe operations, equipment, and operator behavior, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines, safety plans, environmental regulations, DGMS guidelines, SOPs, MOCs, and MCRs. Guide and coach contract employees on safe behaviors and cultivate a strong safety culture. Coordinate and monitor all mining activities to ensure compliance with mining acts, rules, and regulations. Management and Improvement: Manage all contractors to ensure they deliver production or supplies according to contract SLAs. Develop, maintain, and improve area and work standards and procedures. Lead and coach subordinates in this process. Identify and implement measures/projects to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance safety. Training: Ensure training of all employees (company and outsourced) according to DGMS guidelines. Qualifications: Essential: B.Tech/B.E. (Mining) with a First Class Mine Manager's Certificate (Coal) Experience: 5-10 years of experience in underground coal mining operations Additional Skills (Preferred): Strong knowledge of underground mining methods and best practices Excellent leadership and communication skills Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively Problem-solving and decision-making skills Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility Job Type: Full-time
