Job Summary
  • Sound knowledge of systems, equipment, applications of design methods, materials, and computers for preparation of analyses and development of project design deliverables within the IT-Telecommunication discipline.
  • Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical and cost issues related to selection of design features within the discipline.
  • Skill in directing the technical work of less experienced designers and/or drafters.
  • Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the IT-Telecommunications design responsibilities.
  • Managed work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
  • Knowledge of developing IT-Telecommunications Network Topology, Data Center development, OSI Model, rack development and Horizontal distribution as it relates to IT-Telecommunications.
  • Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between Engineering Technologies and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, contractors, and between other groups.
  • Familiar with the industry and regulatory codes and standards, as well as design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Experience in providing technical support to Construction, as well as guiding and resolving queries submittal reviews.
  • Knowledge and application of BICSI design practices, and TIA Standards.
  • Familiarity with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel design guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.
