ROLE SUMMARY

This position is based out of the Chennai office, responsible for the following.

To design databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, optimizing, performance and database usage issues in MS SQL Server.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design & maintain the existing databases and ensure their stability, reliability, security and performance During new application or new feature development, architect the database structure with the Microsoft recommended best practices
• Coordinate with software project lead and write the T-SQL queries (Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers etc.) as per the application requirements.
• Coordinate with software developers, review (and modify the queries if required) and approve the TSQL queries written by them for the production deployment.
• Define and Maintain T-SQL coding standards and versioning.
• Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweaking.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Will help to solve all database usage issues and come up with ideas and advice that can help avoid such problems in the future.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

• E./ B.Tech / M.C.A / M.Sc Graduate or any equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

SKILLS

• Good analytics, design, programming and problem solving abilities.
• Proven experience in optimizing and tuning indices, queries and the Data Warehouse.
• Experience in developing applications with heavy use of T-SQL and SSIS.
• Experience in developing complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
• Experience in creating technical documentation for database objects.
• Strong knowledge in Database design, develop, test, implement, fine-tune, enhance and maintain new and existing databases.
• Deep knowledge in normalization rules and table modelling skills.
• Deep knowledge in SSMS, Execution Plan Analysis, sys. * tables and SQL profiler.
• Experience in ETL process
