Application Design Engineer

Purpose of the Job

Define, produce and validate all the application data and parameters needed to customize the customer solution, either at System level or at Scada Subsystem level .

Produce the engineering typical drawings of the execution design

Organisation Structure

TIS Regional Center / Project Office Project Engineering

Organisational Reporting

Direct report line to the relevant Department Head, according to the RC Project Engineering organisation.

Dotted report line to Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) (during project execution)

Key Network & Links

Part of the Project Core Team and works closely with:

Department Head

System / Subsystem Basic Design Architect

Performance Measurement

Deliver the content of Work Package by achieving the agreed QCD commitment.

Understanding and applying relevant Alstom rules, processes, methods and tools: no deviation or shortcut

Number of design defects detected during the validation phases.

Responsibilities

To develop SCADA application from design

Understands SCADA development lifecycle

Ability to interpret the customer requirements

Hands on experience desirablein various SCADA platforms i.e Intelluition Ifix, Wonderware

Hands on field experience in hardware (RTUs,PLCs,Controllers,IEDs) is a plus

Knowledgeable on Industrial communication protocols

Generate reports using various scripting tools

Design the Mimic, symbols and graphics as per applicable standards.

Write the script and code modules for HMI using Visual Basic(VB)/.Net

Data preparation using XML for HMI configuration

Writing as built and operational manuals.

Development of logic & control sequences for the Hardware

Build & delivery management

Participation in peer review for defect analysis

Adherence to Alstom process & Quality

Code review, configuration management, version management.

Understand the interfaces with other subsystems
