Overall Purpose of the Role: As a System Architect you will contribute to systems engineering activity- providing concepts, defining architecture, systems activity definition, resolving blocks and responsible for Systems deliverables. You will directly report to the Program Manager.

What are my responsibilities as a System Architect?

  • You will define Cyber Security scope and requirement with support from PyCM
  • You will be part of Product development life cycle from concept to delivery, close interactions with Software Engineer, Software Developer and Verification & Validation team.
  • You will be contributing to the elaboration of product/system specification & architecture, in collaboration with the Product architect/ System Engineering Manager
  • Produce the high-level system/architecture description for the scheme, including system interfaces, as necessary.
  • Interdisciplinary Design Check/Review (IDC / IDR) to confirm compatibility of design between relevant engineering disciplines.
  • You will be the technical liaison for OEM partners or subcontractors, to ensure the integration of the associated subsystems. This includes:
  • Producing a technical work scope for the OEM partners/ subcontractors on a need basis & administering technical queries from the OEM partners/ subcontractors.
  • Performing technical review of OEM partner/ subcontractor outputs.
  • Produce a requirements matrix in spreadsheet form, listing:
  • The individual requirements from the user needs (tender/contract).
  • The nominated owner for each requirement / standard.
  • A verification statement for each requirement (proposing how compliance should be demonstrated). Support other disciplines for miscellaneous activities outside its direct responsibility. Typical examples are as follows:
  • Support the Safety Assurance Manager to conduct the safety analysis and provision of evidence for hazard closeout in accordance with the common safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment
  • Support the Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Manager in performing the RAM analysis, adhoc technical input to Fault Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process.
  • Review of documentation (e.g. specifications, systems testing description, system test report) and attendance at meetings etc., particularly on interfacing matters.
  • Remain informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch
  • Contribute to TIS standardization by reusing existing solutions or by defining reusable solutions, including COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) solutions
  • Apply and ensure application of organization processes and standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (RoE: Return of Experience, process )

What do I need to qualify for this job?

Skills & Qualifications

  • You should come with either a Bachelor/Masters in Engineering IT, CS, ECE & EEE or Equivalent Technical degree.
  • You should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in system design, requirements management and technical solutioning for RPF/RFI/RFQ.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Signaling/Transport domain in Product development/Project Engineering
  • You should have a broad knowledge of Hardware and Software interfaces and System Engineering aspects involving the integration of multiple components.
  • You will need knowledge of networking standards TCP/IP, UDP, wireless and wireline communication technologies to perform this job
  • Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
  • Able to prepare proof-of-concepts for customer demonstrations
  • You will be actively engaging with System Engineers/Architects spread across different geographical locations.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language

Good to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of European railway standards would be an added advantage
  • Experience as pre-sales consultant or technical consultant in a System Integration & Engineering organization would be a plus.
