Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking an expert Business Analyst to play a key role in the Heavy Bulky & Services organization creating metrics reporting and data visualization that support our Service Customer Trust team. This team is tasked with ensuring service provider compliance and performance to protect our Customers experience. This is an opportunity to be on the ground level of defining how the business operations need to be driving on its core Input and Output metrics.
We are looking for a creative thinker with a deep analytics experience who knows how to execute and deliver from concept. Ability and enthusiasm to be a leader on a startup team operating in a highly ambiguous environment is required.
As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role on the development of key business metrics related to delivery and service experience. Each new mechanism we design, build, and operate must be informed by increasingly complex sets of data. The outputs of these mechanisms also need careful data analysis to ensure were interpreting results correctly, identifying patterns and outliers, and learning from these insights. This position scales as the mechanisms we build evolve and increase.
To be successful, you will need to interface with a diverse set of stakeholders including - business, data engineering, financial analyst, legal, and operations teams to name a few. These stakeholders often operate in remote environments so the ability to influence and connect remotely is key. You must also demonstrate the ability to balance excellent analytical and technical skills while clearly driving communication and collaboration with other key partners. As a member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to leverage your passion for data science to create high impact solutions.
Major responsibilities:
Design and execute analytic projects in collaboration with business (category & product teams), data engineering, finance, business analysts, and other specialists.
Build data visualization reports and tools for self-service consumption of data (e.g., Tableau)
Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data to help automate and optimize key processes.
Scale data processes and reports; write queries that clients can update themselves; lead work with data engineering for full-scale automation.
Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights.
Partner with data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality, metrics and insights.
Proactively and independently work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, areas for deep dive investigations and future program development.
Understand the basics of test and control comparison; may provide insights through basic statistical measures such as hypothesis testing.
Identify and implement optimal communication mechanisms based on the data set and the stakeholders involved.
Actively manage the timeline and deliverables of projects, focusing on interactions in the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Math, Finance, or related discipline
3+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role
3+ years of professional experience working with large data sets and writing complex SQL queries to pull data
Proven experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
Demonstrated ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced technical or business degree (MS, Masters in Information Science or MBA)
Extensive knowledge of Tableau
Experience working with data engineering teams
