The Amazon Devices team designs and develops high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

We are looking for an exceptionally talented Business Intelligence Engineer to support the data and analytics requirements of the Connectivity Solutions Group. The role-holder will be responsible for creating robust reporting frameworks to increase visibility into data and enable data driven decision making. He/ she will also be responsible for conducting deep dive analyses to solve complex business problems. This position requires excellent statistical and analytical abilities, good knowledge of business intelligence solutions and data engineering practices, and the ability to collaborate with various teams across the organization. Candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity, capable of working in a fast-paced environment, possess strong attention to detail, and able to collaborate with users to understand and transform business problems into requirements and deliverables.


The role will be based in Mumbai

Key Responsibilities:
Work with cross-functional user teams to determine the metrics, reports, and analyses needed for decision-making
Design, architect, implement, and support key datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information with the needs of the end user always in view
Retrieve and analyze data using SQL and other data management systems
Develop queries for ad hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting
Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with other internal teams to identify and implement process and system improvements
Partner with users to answer key business questions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative discipline.
5 + years industry experience developing end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions: data modeling, ETL and reporting.
Familiarity with theory and practice of statistics, information retrieval and data mining.
Demonstrated capability of extracting, transforming, and cleaning large (multi-TB) data sets.
Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python, Perl, Ruby).
Experience using statistical packages and business intelligence tools such as R, Python etc.
Experience in data mining and optimizing database query performance in SQL.
Experience in building dashboards and reports to surface business intelligence data.
Knowledge of visualization platforms like Tableau, Microstrategy, AWS QuickSight, or equivalent solutions
Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
Proven interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams within Connectivity Solutions Group as well as other Amazon businesses.
Strong written and verbal skills ability to present thoughts clearly in both verbal and written form to large cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical members and across hierarchy.
Strong desire to push ideas into production, overcoming obstacles, in order to benefit Amazon's customers.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related discipline
Experience with AWS solutions Redshift experience a plus
Experience building and analyzing models using various statistical tools for predictive modeling
Familiar with theory and practice of machine learning.
