Amazons is looking for a new Development Engineer - Automation to join our Employee Services Technology (ES Tech) organization.

Description

The Development Engineer role will have a strong focus on process automation through building and delivering automation solutions leveraging technologies including: VBA, SQL and RPA, identifying new opportunities for automation as well as stakeholder management. The desired candidate will come ready to use their experience designing and building complex, user-facing automation solutions, to automate operational business process which are either repetitive in nature or require a high level of manual input for processing.


The desired candidate will need to have a strong passion for automation, be able to demonstrate strong technical skills, be able to prioritize project work while effectively collaborating with a global team of automation specialists in multiple locations.



Responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams to design, build and deploy automation solutions.
Identify new opportunities for automation across various business processes within the Human Resources organization.
Work closely with product owners to estimate level of effort for user features.
Assist in building a governance framework for the technical quality review and certification of automation solutions.
Provide code reviews for peers to ensure design and configuration quality that is compliant with standards.
Identify and make recommendations to mitigate technical issues and risks.
Communicate project status to product owners and program managers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or other quantitative fields such as Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent experience.
Advanced working knowledge of VBA, SQL and RPA solutions.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
5+ years of experience in enterprise-level application/process development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in delivering automation solutions in both Excel and SQL.
Solid working knowledge or understanding of RPA implementations and solutions (UiPath).
The ability to tackle projects that are new to Amazon with inherently ambiguous parameters.
Experience in Human Resources Operations, Recruitment, Staffing, Payroll, etc.
Analytical mind set and ability to see the big picture and influence others.
Strong oral, written and presentation skills combined with the ability to lead group discussions and explaining complex solutions.
Green Belt Certification.
