Amazons Last Mile Analytics and Quality (LMAQ) team supports Amazon's Last Mile business globally along two critical dimensions: (a) curating and managing our geo-spatial datasets at scale (including data about places, locations and maps); (b) closing technology and automation gaps in our last mile planning and execution technologies (including supporting areas like delivery quality, onboarding and payments). LMAQ team has different spaces like Driver Support, SDS, Maps, Routing, etc.
LMAQ team is looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical and motivated Headcount Planner, who will be responsible for generating short and long term staffing plans for the Driver support and SDS spaces. This role will require planning of strategic solutions to meet demand, cost, operational and recruitment feasibility constraints across both spaces. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and optimization skills and will be an excellent communicator to enable effective stakeholder and partner management. A successful Headcount Planner will possess exceptional negotiation skills, project management experience, high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Generate short and long term staffing plans by effectively balancing associate experience, forecast volatility, demand and profitability of the network.
Manage peaks and troughs across different programs, create shift plans, ensure visibility for hiring pipeline and plan for temp staffing
Strategize on network allocations weekly, monthly and yearly in order maintain a cost favorable position and optimize resource utilization across different spaces.
Constantly analyze, review and challenge forecast trends/movements/patterns to ensure alignment.
Lead regular meetings with senior leaders across different spaces. Clearly articulate staffing plans with associated risks and mitigation options.
Plan for any risks and volatility in volume by closely reviewing long term and short term staffing plans. Make relevant stakeholders aware of levers in flexing capacity with defined timelines.
Actively participate in new (business/skill /geography/product) launches and anticipate/voice out any risks associated with (scalability/staffing plans/service levels/finance goals/associate experience) of the designated network.
Partner with tech/product teams to leverage technological solutions to enhance efficiency/accuracy/quality of capacity planning and its SOPs.
Regularly review performance of KPIs across productivity/finance, analyze and deep dive on any deviation to plans and chart out clear and actionable opportunities for course correction in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Strong stakeholder management skills, including communication and interpersonal skills.
Extremely comfortable with dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities.
Experience in modelling of business processes within Excel and other tools.
High capability for data mining, problem solving and analytical work, including the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from data.
Technical expertise with planning and analysis tools, high-level MS Excel and proficient in SQL.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelors Degree in quantitative field (Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics) or equivalent strong experience in a forecasting, planning or analytical role.
