Localization Specialist (hindi) - 12 Month Contract Job in Amazon

Amazon Digital and Device Team creates and localizes content that helps our customers enjoy a wide range of digital products and services. We are looking for a Localization Specialist (Hindi language) - for a 12 month contract.

This 1-year role is an exceptional opportunity for a creative, collaborative, highly motivated and customer-obsessed individual to help D2 team on localization projects in an exciting digital environment. Using computer-assisted translation tools, the Localization Specialist will ensure that human and machine-generated translations meet Amazon's specific style guides and quality standards for Digital and Device content.

Specifically, the Localization Specialist will:

Manage small to medium multilingual localization projects while working with internal D2AS stakeholders, translation vendors, D2AS program managers and other Amazon localization teams
Localize material that effectively communicates to internal and external audiences
Continuously monitor quality of content produced by translation vendors and make sure it meets Amazon's internal quality standards
Continuously improve localization processes, including raw machine translation output, style guides and terminology entries
Use sound business judgment to make quick decisions under pressure in ambiguous circumstances, balancing advocacy with a need for action.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as translation, linguistics, digital media, journalism or communications
Superior writing skills in Hindi, ability to translate from English to Hindi. Additional languages seen as a plus (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada Marathi).
Extraordinary attention to detail to evaluate, uphold, implement, and evangelize content and localization standards
Ability to self-direct, multi-task, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced, technical environment
Strong customer obsession and CS knowledge
A great deal of personal initiative, decisiveness and team spirit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working on complex projects with multi-language, cross-functional global teams
Previous experience in translation and expertise with CAT tools
Project or Program Management experience.
