Amazon.com is seeking a highly-intelligent and experienced public relations professional to support our rapidly growing and evolving global digital video business. Amazon Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV shows. Our mission is to build the widest selection of digital video content and make it trivially easy for customers to enjoy wherever and whenever they want.

As a Principal Brand PR for Amazon Prime Video in India, you will partner and collaborate with key business leaders to imagine, develop and execute communications programs and publicity campaigns designed to support our growing slate of Amazon Original series produced in India, along with our biggest award winning original and exclusive content. As a regional PR Manager, you will be relied upon as a key advisor to senior business leaders and international PR colleagues and support global campaigns taking into consideration cultural nuances for impactful regional media strategies.

As Principal Brand PR you will be responsible for all non-Content focused media-facing PR strategies and own the roadmap for a range of initiatives and communications strategies aimed at deepening media and industry understanding and appreciation of Amazon Prime Video in India. This includes the management of the speaking program for Amazon Studios and Prime Video business in India and commissioning executives, designed to increase awareness and engagement with the Indian production community and media. The Principal Brand PR acts as the first point-of-contact for all issues management around Prime Video and Amazon Studios in India. The successful candidate is furthermore responsible for building an on-going media relations program with Indian journalists in order to successfully manage inbound reactive media requests and proactively setting up features about Prime Video, its overarching service and the individuals running the business. The successful candidate leads all team contact with Indian broadcasting industry stakeholders including awards bodies, charities, guilds and key broadcasters.

The Principal Brand PR works closely with the Indian Content PR lead on an on-going basis to identify and action opportunities for joint Content and Brand PR activity, most notably for major Indian Amazon Original series. It works closely with the Amazon India Corporate Communications team to leverage Amazon Studios and Prime Video Indias activity to support on-going programs designed to underline Amazons commitment to the Indian creative sector. The role has a specific focus on highlight Prime Videos tech efforts in India. This requires cross-functional communication to identify newsworthy work streams and close alignment with PR counterparts in Seattle, Los Angeles and London.

The successful candidate must have extraordinary high-judgment, excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability, exceptional initiative, strong project management skills and a talent for effectively managing projects across international teams with complex communication challenges. She/he should have experience working with high standards under tight deadlines and be flexible to manage ambiguity as priorities change.


Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a PR subject matter expert for India
Development and implementation of brand PR strategies
- Own roadmap for communications strategies aimed at deepening media and industry understanding and appreciation of Amazon Prime Video in India
- Management and further development of the speaking program for Amazon Studios and Prime Video business in India
- First point-of-contact for all issues management around Prime Video and Amazon Studios in India.
- Build on-going media relations programme with Indian journalists
Close co-operation with fellow Prime Video PR associates worldwide as well as international colleagues from Amazon Studios
Work with key stakeholders across many regions including business leads, content teams, marketing teams, social media teams and external PR agencies
Provide strategic counsel to senior business leaders
Ensure consistency of company-wide communication, share worldwide best practices, capitalize on opportunities globally and develop impactful regional media strategies
Keep current on trends, issues and news about both the business and consumer worlds of media and entertainment
Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant media in the region
Conduct proactive and reactive media relations
Manage external public relations agency on strategy and day to day matters
Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson for assigned businesses as necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required, a post graduate degree or diploma in communications is preferred
10+ years of experience in Public Relations, preferably in TV and entertainment
Fluent speaker of English (written and spoken)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience executing highly successful, creative and complex media campaigns and events
Excellent judgement, particularly in narrow time frames
Ability to work at internet speed
Experience managing a current network of media contacts
Willingness to travel internationally
Demonstrated understanding of the consumer and media landscape in India
Desire to work with the media proactively to generate awareness
A passion for pop culture and entertainment
Willingness to work hard and roll up sleeves to get work done, even when at times it is outside the scope of the job
Ability to develop creative, effective strategies for difficult communications challenges
Painstaking attention to detail
