Quality Assurance Engineer Job in Amazon

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Prime Video team is looking for a smart, motivated, and results-oriented quality assurance engineer to join the team. We are a high-energy and innovative group changing the way customers watch TV and movies.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering world-class digital media experiences to our customers. Successful candidates for this position will be self-starters with strong bias for action and passion for quality. Strong communication skills and a desire to validate against implicit as well as explicit product behaviors on complex problems that emerge from driving a large business at Amazon are also a must.

Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are not pure black box testers, they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools.

QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level Unit tests, test execution and reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
Experience in manual testing
Experience in automation testing
Bachelor's Degree
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
Experience working on distributed systems.
Experience validating solutions that work cross-platform.
Experience in atleast one platform at depth: Web, iOS, Android or Living Room.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Expertise in API level testing
Expertise in Front End testing for a large productivity tool.
Expertise in software design patterns and testability
Expertise in software development best practices
Strong team player, exceptional interpersonal skills
Ability to automate using scripting languages such as Python
Ability to define and manage metrics
Ability to write clear documentation
