Our challenge is to build next generation platform from scratch handling most critical vendor data, handling millions of TPS impacting billions of dollars in payments every week. Deliver the software systems which accurately capture, process, and report on the huge volume of financial transactions that are generated each day as millions of customers make purchases, as thousands of Vendors and Partners are paid, as inventory moves in and out of warehouses, as commissions are calculated, and as taxes are collected in hundreds of jurisdictions worldwide.
The ideal candidate will draw upon exemplary analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, deep software development experience, and a passion for creating maintainable, highly reliable and scalable platforms and user facing applications that are accessed by thousands of external Vendors and internal Customers. Successful members of this team collaborate effectively with internal customers, other dependent development teams in Amazon to develop new applications successfully against high operational standards of system availability and reliability. This candidate also plays active role in reviewing the technical designs from the team and in mentoring of other developers in the team.

Requirements:
Passion for building scalable, global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts.
Expert knowledge of Java, C/C++ or C# is a must.
Demonstrated knowledge of building a large scale system
Innovative and creative with Web technologies to build high performing websites and web services.
Demonstrated proficiency with AJAX, JavaScript, CSS is a plus.
Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
BS or MS in Computer Science or in a relevant Engineering discipline.
4+ years of industry experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
