Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Whole Foods Market on Amazon is responsible for business leadership of the free 2 hour delivery offering for Prime members from Whole Foods Market locations nationwide. This is a fast paced, high growth, highly strategic initiative for Amazon. We are looking for high-potential, flexible, innovative, and forward-thinking professional to join us in Catalog Operations team in Hyderabad in order to drive Operational Excellence in non-tech domain of project/program management. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities and management skills, who will act as the leader of the catalog quality team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, and will be comfortable assessing and working with multiple sources of information. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enabling he/she to guide the team and work with key stakeholders.



An information-rich and accurate product catalog is a strategic asset for Amazon. It powers unrivaled product discovery, informs customer buying decisions, offers a large selection and positions Amazon as the first stop for shopping online. Key responsibilities include:

-Manage catalog quality team, provide coaching and mentoring to catalog specialists. We want to develop our employees for career progression.

Develop team goals and metrics that allow for accurate measurement and traction towards solving a business problem, achieve buy-in from a broad spectrum of stakeholders and actively report progress on the goals


Thrive and Operate in the variable & grey environment by addressing situations of low workload forecast, varying customer priorities, changing mix of workload which will impact productivity bar and cross-skilling of resources for most optimum throughput management.

Use data to derive decisions. Expect to not have data/incomplete data in very many situations and should have illustrated dexterity in handling such situation by surrogating other metrics or replacing submission with logic and anecdotes.

Setup and execute processes for performing quality reviews to unearth insight or patterns that can be used to drive operational efficiency, further control cost per transaction of the operations teams, and subsequently building data backed business cases

Create workload forecasting models and resource management models in order to balance goal delivery vs responsible hiring.


Assess performance of quality metrics; surface exceptions to the respective teams. Setup and execute processes to enable operations to drive corrective actions as necessary.

Maintain daily operational number-driven focus for self and team on all service queues under the ownership, to identify variances promptly and deploy mid-course corrections where required, in order to meet set goals.

Set the right bar for the managers and associates on amazon culture and Leadership Principles.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years of relevant experience
Experience and strong interest in Operations, proven ability to define effective, efficient, and scalable processes and drive continuous improvement through root cause identification and defect elimination
Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do what is necessary to meet team goals
Strong critical and analytical thinking; ability to solve complex and ambiguous problems, and perform cost benefit trade-offs
Problem Solving: Deliver solutions to complex problems through in-depth data analysis, identification of right root cause using methodical approach with experience, innovation and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information.
Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills; demonstrated success in achieving buy-in for an innovative, bold and strategic vision
Experience developing and presenting to large groups (including senior executives), and comfortable discussing and defending ideas.
Strong bias for action and dive deep; ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Self-driven, ability to work independently to develop and execute strategies with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

knowledge of advanced Excel and working knowledge of SQL - working knowledge of other data processing tools (SAS, SPSS, R etc.) is a plus
-MBA
-Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts desired and certification is a plus
Experience in e-commerce environment will be an added plus
Project Management certification
