DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Prime Video team is looking for a smart, motivated, and results-oriented support engineer to join the team. We are a high-energy and innovative group changing the way customers watch TV and movies.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering world-class digital media experiences to our customers. Successful candidates for this position will be self-starters with strong problem solving skills who love getting things done. Strong communication skills and a desire to tackle complex problems that emerge from driving a large business at Amazon are also a must.

As a norm, Amazon SEs have industry-leading technical and troubleshooting abilities. They recognise and adopt best practices in support engineering: troubleshooting, scripting, writing java functions, documentation, build, deployment, and operations. They solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. They build flexible systems without over-engineering and choose simple, straightforward solutions over more complex ones. They understand how operating systems work, perform and scale.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

B.Tech in Computer Science or a related field.
4+ years overall technical/product development experience.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues.
Strong object oriented development knowledge in Java.
Demonstrates skill and passion for operational excellence.
Knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating system.
Expertise in scripting
Documentation skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge on distributed computing technologies
Knowledge on relational and no-sql database technologies
Expertise in Java frameworks
Debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems
