DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Operations Technology (Ops Tech) System Engineering team develops and implements products that configure, manage, and report on the status of a global fleet of end user client devices such as scanners and tablets. These devices are used in Amazon Fulfillment Centers, Middle and Last Mile facilities such as the smallest last-mile delivery stations in emerging markets to one million plus square foot robotic facilities in North America, Japan, and Europe. They are relied upon by hundreds of thousands of associates at thousands of locations and are critical to the delivery of shipments to Amazon retail customers.

We are looking for talented System Development Engineers to join this team. The team is improving the speed at which we can evaluate and onboard new types of devices and how they are managed and supported at scale. This requires full automation of device provisioning, device testing frameworks, as well as improvements to reporting. Our products are built on top of standard AWS offerings. Our goal is to enable the business by allowing them to use the latest technology in our facilities, securely, with no operational defects.

You are passionate about software quality, repeatability, testability and maintainability. When you need clarity, you go to the customers, perhaps a user, and talk to them until you get it right. You understand the challenges associated with operating a large-scale system in production, and your designs and implementations reflect that understanding.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree
3+ years coding in Java, Ruby, Python or other DevOps oriented languages
Experience with system and application monitoring, software distribution, patching and maintenance
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
Eager to learn, enjoy a fast-paced environment
Driven to provide the best customer experience via technology
Ability to drive innovation
Experience using Amazon Web Services
Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms such as Airwatch, SOTI, or Avalanche
