What We re Looking For: We re seeking a Full Stack Engineer who is resourceful, versatile, and passionate about building software that expands renewable energy access to millions of households. The ideal candidate will be a team player who approaches problems from a holistic perspective and is excited to explore new domains when conventional methods fall short. You should have a strong ability to iterate, collaborate with various teams, and adapt quickly to a fast-paced, changing regulatory landscape. This role is based in Chennai, India, with a hybrid remote-first approach, and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to shaping how the energy industry evolves. What You'll Do: Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Analytics to build the best possible product for members and enterprise partners. Develop robust, scalable back-end systems: Design and develop scalable back-end systems for high-availability applications. Build and maintain APIs: Create secure, complex APIs that allow seamless communication between back-end and front-end applications. Create performant front-end applications: Develop front-end applications that are both highly performant and user-friendly. Deploy frequently: Use a streamlined CI/CD pipeline to deploy new features to production regularly. Explore new technologies: Stay open-minded and explore new technologies with your team to improve and evolve the platform. Improve reliability: Increase test coverage and troubleshoot production issues. Mentor junior engineers: Provide guidance, code reviews, and constructive feedback to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth. Drive continuous improvement: Identify and suggest opportunities for improvements that enhance both the user and developer experience. What Will Help You Succeed: We are looking for someone with experience across the full stack, but you don't need to match every technology listed. The following qualifications will help you thrive in this role: 8+ years of experience in a software engineering role, building high-availability, large-scale web applications. Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Mentorship experience with a proven track record of providing constructive feedback during code and design reviews. Ability to architect, scope, prioritize, estimate, and deliver projects while balancing speed with quality. Familiarity with programming languages such as: Ruby JavaScript/TypeScript SQL Experience with back-end frameworks and platforms such as: Ruby on Rails Apollo (GraphQL) Front-end framework experience, especially: React NextJS Familiarity with infrastructure technologies like: Postgres or other relational databases Docker AWS (Lambda, SQS, etc.) CloudFormation Passion for sustainability and a drive to contribute to a clean energy future.
