Brief Description

As a software engineer on our Backend team, you will be building and owning certain backend services and infrastructure that power our core products. We strive for high standard of engineering quality while solving unique scalability challenges.

Job Responsibilities

• Building, testing, and releasing product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements; these features could be related to data, core product, authentication, or security.
• Designing a solution with other engineers and the ops team to fix a scalability problem and then implement it
• Working with our frontend team to fine tune our REST and SOAP API
• Collaborating with our data team to support development of machine learning data models and data products
• Participate in all aspects of an iterative software development process, including scoping, detailed design, effort estimation, coding, testing, debugging, maintenance and support

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required with 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Highly proficient in developing in Java
• Working knowledge of NodeJS and Microsoft .Net a plus
• AWS and Cloud native data experience is must
• Solid understanding of relational databases and transactions
• Experienced with S3, Lambda and RDS & DynamoDB databases, SageMaker, CloudFormation, Sagemaker, EC2, S3, KMS
• Experience with AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, Travis
• Familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems
• Good intuition for REST API design
• Knowledge of cross platform native mobile development frameworks a plus
