Database Engineer - Performance/reliability Job in Arista

Job Descriptions:

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Two years of working with databases and tuning them to achieve better performance.
• Knowledge of modern SQL, and scripting languages such as Python.
• Understanding of performance aspects of databases indexes, joins, I/O bottlenecks, etc.
• Knowledge of docker containers and their performance in distributed environments.
• Knowledge of Postgres or a derived database is required.
• Knowledge of an MPP database such as Greenplum is a plus.
• Knowledge of a general-purpose language such as C/Go/Java/Scala is a plus.
• Knowledge of running the database on the cloud is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the data team to make our data-store run optimally on the allocated hardware.
• Build monitoring infrastructure to find performance bottlenecks in production.
• Build infrastructure for upgrading, schema migration, backup/recovery to improve the availability of the system.
• Work on open-source systems and contribute the performance improvements back to the community.
