This is a Data Science - Reliability Specialist role, reporting to the Head of Solution & Value Engineering in business area Industrial Automation (IA) located in Bangalore. You will be working at Ability Innovation Center (AIC), home to the largest technology and engineering pool in ABB globally and is a part of ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited, a subsidiary of ABB. Your responsibilities

  • Conceptualizing and developing prescriptive analytic algorithms for rotating machinery and industrial equipment based on operation and engineering data.
  • Conceptualizing and developing asset lifting algorithms for industrial equipment based on reliability techniques.
  • Implementing algorithms to quantify system level risk of a machine, unplanned risk, risk of scrapping of part, risk of unwanted repair of part using historical data base of operation and maintenance data.
  • Solutioning reliability algorithms and their output visualizations by packaging them as industrial business value apps.
  • Working closely with customers and Business Units (BUs) to architect and develop customer centric solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Practicing agile development of digital solution Proof of Concepts to effectively articulate the customer value proposition.
  • Providing industry specific domain insights for rich proposal responses by articulating customer value proposition.

Your background

  • PhD / M. Tech. / MS in either Chemical or Mechanical or Electrical or Reliability Engineering from a reputed institution.
  • Required 10+ years of overall work experience in using standard reliability analytic tools like Weibull++, Accelerated Life Testing Analysis (ALTA), Reliability Growth Analysis (RGA), MINITAB & MS Excel.
  • Strong experience in reliability domain in any industry like petrochemicals, manufacturing, utilities etc.
  • Should be familiar with inspection and maintenance programs of industrial equipment e.g. multistage pumps and/or compressor, turbines, turbochargers, mechanical seals etc.
  • Should have Exposure to reliability matrix and standards, condition-based maintenance, plant MoC, RCM techniques such as RCFA, FMECA, risk assessment and MTBF analysis of critical rotary equipment, planning of shutdowns/overhauls.
  • Good to have experience in software applications like Maximo, Meridium, MS Office will be considered an added advantage.
