As IAMA HUB Supply Chain Manager SAMEA, you will set up HUB specific Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies in line with Company and SCM council strategy, as well as lead and implement SCM activities and best practices across the HUB Division. You are responsible for direct material and services within the HUB Division. This role reports to the IAMA HUB SAMEA Operations Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing the overall supply chain strategy in line with business strategy and HUB/Division Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) strategy. Contributing to definition, implementation, and execution of Global Division spend management and sourcing strategies for direct material and services to the Hub. Leading SCM activities across the hub Division.
  • Defining together with the PMU / SIU Supply Chain teams the priorities of sourcing activities. Determining and monitoring key supply chain KPIs, annual targets and scorecards, together with the SCM Managers, for cost reduction, supplier quality, supplier delivery performance on-time delivery (OTD) etc. Ensures long-term planning as well as monthly monitoring of results and encourages continuous improvement.
  • Developing and implementing cost, productivity, quality, delivery and inventory improvement plans in line with Division and Group SCM strategies. Suggesting solutions for process improvements. Proactively works to resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality and delivery, implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Planning and implementing supply chain optimization projects (cost, quality, delivery and working capital). Providing constructive feedback. Works with finance, engineering and manufacturing to determine and lead most impactful supply chain projects.
  • Determining targets and ensures correct fulfilment across Local Divisions within the Hub. Organizing and leading category teams, including cross-functional representation (Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Site Projects, etc.). Responsible for development of partnerships and leads negotiations with suppliers and supplier partners specific to the Hub Division. Participates in negotiation with wider suppliers and other ABB Divisions.
  • Ensuring the execution of supplier audits and monitors audit reports as well as improvement activities based on audit conclusions and recommendations. Implementing ABB standards, guidelines, instructions and tools to improve SCM activities in different units for the assessment and selection of most competitive suppliers.
  • Implementing ABB standards on sustainability and business ethics as well as the Supplier Code of Conduct within the Hub Division supply base.
  • Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies, for the benefit of both ABB and the employee. Managing the succession planning for lead SCM positions in the Hub Division. Responsible for talent management processes regionally with Division.

Your background

  • University or Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years relevant experience with negotiations, leadership and products.
  • Business acumen and ability to take strategic view from both business and SCM perspective.
  • Customer and market focused attitude.
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Will have to travel frequently within the region and occasionally outside the region.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken with a strong and pro-active engagement.
