This is a R&D Senior Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Team Manager in Business Area Industrial Automation located in Bangalore. You will be responsible for developing or creating products, systems, services or technologies for ABBs Business Units by leading and managing the execution of one or more R&D projects to meet project targets.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing and executing the roadmap for Next Gen Projects needed for ABB systems.
  • Interacting with the stakeholders to understand and develop the requirement.
  • Managing the projects according to gate model, as a product owner, creating and grooming the backlog for teams.
  • Working with internal teams and OPCs to demo the tools and bring efficiency to engineering.
  • Understanding, analyzing and fixing the customer cases related to released tools.
  • Overseeing efficient, timely and quality project execution using the most appropriate internal and external resources and partners (e.g. universities, Corporate Research Centers (CRCs)).
  • Recommending, developing, and improving processes and procedures to enhance local operations.
  • Living ABBs core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background

  • MCA/B.E/ B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 12-15 years of experience in handling new development and maintenance projects.
  • Good to have experience with 800XA and advent knowledge.
  • Experience in historian databases.
  • Should have solid understanding of usage of automation systems especially ABB control systems along with experience in commissioning, application development using Distribution Control System (DCS).
  • Ability to work well within the teams in an organized and systematic manner.
  • Should have experience in managing agile processes, requirement and gate model.
